My Goals

So I just had a conversation with a co-worker in the hallway. She is (and will be for awhile) the only person that I tell about this little self challenge. The reason I talked to her about it is because she is such a positive upbeat person that I know it will be like having my own personal cheerleader!

During the conversation, I talked about my goals for the first time out loud and they actually sounded pretty good!

My long term overall goal is to be healthier, more fit and happy.

My 1 year goal is to remember this conversation with Anubha a year from now and be VERY proud of where I am at! As I already said, I am going to be 39 in a little more than a week. Next year when I am approaching 40 I want to be better than I have ever been before! I want to be fit & healthy, have energy, be sleeping well, have better eating habits and an exercise program I STICK TO!

My short term goal is to stay with this. 1 day at a time.

My life right now consists of waking up, getting Joey and myself ready for school in a rush, making him breakfast to eat in the car because we are running late, and more often than not, getting some kind of fast food on the way in to work for myself. Lunch has been a little more healthy than that as I have been making turkey sandwiches to bring in for lunch. After work I get Joey from school, go home and eat whatever for dinner. Sometimes we go out to a restaurant, sometimes just eat at home. Snacks throughout the day could be anything but usually, popcorn or goldfish crackers. After that its time for Jeopardy (I do try to exercise my brain daily), play with Joey for a bit and then I pop a couple pills to help me sleep, and then it’s off to bed.

This has to change.

Today I am scouring the Internet for some beginner workout challenges that I can start right away.

I have also started weight watchers to help me make better food choices.

This is it! I know I can do this. I have faced much bigger challenges and I have always come out  on top. This however WILL be the first time that I approach my own health and lifestyle as challenge.

Now that I have made it a challenge…I will most definitely kick ass!
